Revised Code of Practice for Management of Infrastructure in Road Reserves was made by Minister for roads and road Safety and published on 28th April 2016 replacing the previous 2008 version and can be found via the following link.

The purpose of the Code is “to provide practical guidance and identify benchmarks of good practice for utilities, providers of public transport and road authorities, who are expected to work together cooperatively to facilitate the installation, maintenance and operation of road and non-road infrastructure within road reserves.” Thus setting the rules for placement of infrastructure within government road reserves within Victoria
