At Newcastle’s recent event, David Nicholas, Principal Consultant, Nicholas Corrosion Pty Ltd presented an interesting and engaging presentation on the variations of stainless steels used in domestic and industry applications.
He described, with many examples, the problems that can arise, both short and long term, where the environment and interactions with other metals is not well understood and catered for.
Whilst a small number of guests attended they were willing to engage with questions and comments on their own experiences which enhanced the overall presentation and made it an enjoyable time. Those attending now have a greater appreciation of the many benefits that stainless steel components provide when designed and installed correctly in a wide range of situations.
