Entering in the transport sector 20 years ago in rail engineering, Garry has been leading the development and implementation of configuration management systems within TfNSW for the last 10 years where he has brought a structured approach to configuration management in the broader multi modal environment.
Presentation 2: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly side of Configuration Management on Railways.
A look at what is a configuration change and some examples of ones, in railways, where the process has failed and why they failed. Will include a look at lessons learnt.
About the Speaker:
Bill Milburn, Technical Manager Metro Trains Sydney
Bill has been working with advanced automatic, driverless and high-speed railways most of his 30+ year career. A Signalling and Control Systems Engineer/Manager and more recently the delivery manager for a driverless railway cyber security project. He is responsible for the Configuration Management of the Sydney Metro NorthWest and was CCB chair for 2 years, in which time he completely rewrote the company plan and procedures to a more robust process that can cater for the complexities that the addition of the Sydney Metro City and SouthWest brings. However, he leaves his current role at the end of March 2022 to join 2XM Consult as Technical Director.
