business 2026646 1920The Asset Management Council Board has been continually monitoring the evolving situation with the Coronavirus outbreak in Australia. The latest advice as of Friday 13th March was that Asset Management Council gatherings could ‘proceed as planned’ for the time being as all gatherings are less than 500.

However, with the ongoing uncertainty and rapid escalation of COVID-19 over the last few days, the Board has decided to suspend all face-to-face elements of Chapter Technical Meetings until the end of March 2020 and to do what we can to assist in social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Where possible we will have other options available for you to keep participating in continuing professional development including e-registration and live-streaming for some technical sessions.

We deem that this precautionary measure is a necessary and responsible action to protect the health, safety and well-being of our members and community in general.

Our much anticipated AMPEAK 2020 event due to start on 19th April is unlikely to proceed in its original advertised format. We are currently investigating all options and aim to provide firm advice soon. In the event that AMPEAK20 is postponed, we will provide refunds in accordance with our refund policy.

We will provide further updates soon. In the meantime, we encourage you to heed government health advice and wash hands with great rigour, cough/sneeze into your arm and practice social distancing – and above all, stay safe.

Kind regards,

Dr Anne Gibbs
CEO, Asset Management Council
