The AMCouncil’s Women in Asset Management (WiAM) special interest group (SIG) welcomes Ella Hingston into the WiAM organising committee. Ella joins fellow WiAM committee members: Lucie Mitchell (WiAM Chair), Dr Carla Boehl, Nicola Daaboul, Dr Monique Beedles, Mae-Ryn Chong, Di Scheepers, Wendy McPate, Lidia Pajmakoska, Ellie Kallianis and Helen Carroll, who are working hard behind the scenes on their program for the remainder of 2021.
At the AMPEAK conference on Monday the AM Council held its annual AGM. At the meeting a new Board member was elected.
There were four applications for one place on the Board and after voting, Wendy McPate was elected. Wendy is the engineering manager, asset management, in the power generation business unit for Origin Energy. More information about Wendy is below.
In addition to congratulating Wendy, the AM Council would like to thank outgoing Board member Dr Monique Beedles for her work and commitment to the role.

A big congratulations to the winner of this year’s AMPEAK competition, Jill Meehan, one of our Brisbane Chapter members. We asked how you led for success during 2020? This is what Jill answered:
I have led for success through 2020 in two key areas:
1. Took charge in developing a strategy for Asset Management improvements and rolled this strategy out across site.
2. Led my team through COVID and the challenges with working from home, including the mental health implications of this.
