Last Thursday, the Perth Chapter celebrated the end of 2020 with a full house at Lot Twenty in a balmy 33 degrees with high humidity. Everyone enjoyed themselves, with representatives from government, oil & gas, mining and rail/transportation industries. Members from local academia also were represented. Food and drinks were enjoyed by all & everyone shared their excitement of what the New Year will bring. Check out a few snaps from the evening below, and see if you can spot a familiar face.

Sydney Water, Jemena and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) recently announced a jointly funded project to trial injecting biomethane into the natural gas network in NSW.
The $14 million project1 will upgrade biogas produced from the anaerobic digestion process at Sydney Water’s Malabar Wastewater Treatment Plant to biomethane and injected into the Jemena natural gas network.

The Asset Management Council in conjunction with the Centre for Professional Engineer and Education (CPEE) have collaborated to launch a new four unit Graduate Certificate in Asset Management (GCAM) commencing Semester 1 2021.
A range of electives within this 4 Unit program ensures both aspiring and current asset managers and engineers have the skills and recognition for career enhancement.

The South Australian Government recently announced major plans and investment into reducing energy costs in government buildings.
The $60 million commitment is expected to generate hundreds of local jobs, as tradies provide retrofits to existing building assets. Older buildings can get very hot in summer, yet by simply upgrading lighting and insulation, installing air-conditioning and adding sensors and energy management software programs, these government buildings can improve energy efficiency ratings, while also ensuring they are more comfortable and healthier places to work1.
