The Perth Chapter AGM was held on the 17th March and a full strength committee elected including six new committee members: Mark Bourhill, Neen Barry, Robert Musca, Robert Pradera, Adam Rotapel and Garth Walter.

AMCouncil Sydney Chapter’s first event of the year was held 17 March 2021. The online event had over 100 registrations and was hosted by Women in Asset Management. David Spiteri – incoming Chair of the Sydney Chapter committee – gave an insight into upcoming events for Sydney Chapter and the opportunities for involvement from supporters and members over the year.
Thursday 25th February saw the Brisbane Chapter present a hybrid technical session on Asset Management basics, with over 120 attendees either in person or online. This was presented by Chapter Chair, Keith Paintin, and Committee member, Steve Walker. The session addressed some basic Asset Management questions such as:
Our Perth Chapter kicked off their 2021 schedule of events with an in depth look at asset management from Water Corporation’s perspective. First at the lecturn were Jakob Verhoef (Principal In Service Assets Regional) and John Nazimek (Principal In Service Assets Metro) who shared how Water Corporation is improving their understanding of risk across a wide range of assets. They explained how Water Corporation is using data to prioritise asset renewals and shared their journey developing Asset Class Management Plans.

Last Thursday, the Perth Chapter celebrated the end of 2020 with a full house at Lot Twenty in a balmy 33 degrees with high humidity. Everyone enjoyed themselves, with representatives from government, oil & gas, mining and rail/transportation industries. Members from local academia also were represented.
