Sydney Sings Praises about Opera House Site Visit

The AMC Sydney Chapter conducted its annual site visit on the morning of Thursday 15th August. This year we had the privilege of being hosted for a behind the scenes tour of the iconic Sydney Opera House (SOH). SOH is an asset with a design life of 250 years, which opened in 1973 and hence is approaching 50 years old.

Intelligent Asset Management in Newcastle

Newcastle 2A great presentation on Tuesday night at the Rydges delivered by Sean Reeves our Chair of the Newcastle Chapter. It was a particularly enlightening talk that portrayed asset management as it truly is, a considered collection of data and information and the path to transformation into a genuine asset management plan, confidently protecting and utilising assets.  Sean provided a very useable outline capturing the big picture.

Numerous questions were asked, and very valuable discussions ensued which followed well into refreshments time. It was great to see new connections and networks being formed.

Melbourne explores the AMAF Audit Report

Melbourne 10Following the Asset Management Accountability Framework Audit Report that was presented to Parliament on 23rd May 2019, our Melbourne AMCouncil chapter got together over breakfast to hear from Catherine Sandercock, Manager Performance Audit, Victorian Auditor-General’s Office, who spoke about the audit findings and recommendations.

Sydney look at Certification under ISO 55001 from the Certifying Auditors Perspective

IMG 0672George Assaad, a passionate public speaker and expert in in developing, implementing and maintaining management systems for clients across a wide range of industries, engaged our Sydney chapter to be very interested in what some may say could be a dry topic on Certification under ISO 55001 from the Certifying Auditors’ Perspective last week. The chapter may not have had an as energised audit speaker prior! George made sure that members were across the requirement that It’s ‘their’ decision to make sure that the right Asset Management decisions that are made are in line with the requirements of the ISO 55000 series standards.
