Victorian Auditor General Office released the Results of the 2017/2018 Audit: Local Government report in December 2018.
The Local Government Sector in Victoria collected $10.66 Billion in revenue during the 2017/2018 financial year and spent $8.49Billion on operating expenditure.
The State Infrastructure Strategy (SIS) is a 20-year infrastructure investment plan for the NSW Government that places strategic fit and economic merit at the centre of investment decisions. The Strategy assesses infrastructure problems and solutions, and provides recommendations to best grow the State’s economy, enhance productivity and improve living standards for our NSW community. Infrastructure Australia publically released their Australian Infrastructure Audit on 22 May 2015, and has opened feedback to the public, asking for professionals to comment on infrastructure solutions and ideas that should be considered a priority for the next 5 to 15 years. The deadline to submit your comments is August 14, and below is more information on The Audit.
The Asset Management Council’s government-sector community of practice was created in order for AM professionals in government bodies to convene, share, and grow their asset management skills and knowledge. It acts as a single meeting place for government professionals in asset management, bringing together and establishing connections that may have otherwise not been available.
Recently, the Asset Management Council’s Brisbane Chapter held a technical session with over 90 engineering and asset management professionals in attendance. Leading the event was the Brisbane chapter chair, Gopinath Chattopadhyay. Speakers who present from the Queensland Government and the Queensland Audit Office include Neil Scales, David Adams, Sandra Heidrich, and Patrick Fleming.
