The purpose of the Maintenance Framework is to develop and promote a common understanding of the role and value of maintenance, and how it contributes to the delivery of business outcomes. Going into more detail than, and beyond the subject of Maintenance Delivery from the Asset Management Landscape, the Maintenance Framework provides information on:
- The discipline of maintenance and its management, including its role in asset management at all stages of asset life;
- Maintenance principles, subjects, and terminology; and
- Relevant international standards.

The Asset Journal welcomes editorial submissions for technical articles, opinion pieces, news, and business information.
The Asset Journal is the Asset Management Council’s official publication. Commencing in 2007, this quarterly Journal continues to cover the latest asset management and maintenance topics for its members and the wider asset management and maintenance community. It contains technical articles, tutorials, informal articles about current issues in asset management, chapter news, and updates from the CEO and Chairman.

As Sydney commuters bustle their way through traffic, a breakthrough—literally—has been made on the WestConnex tunnels project. Roadheaders, those large excavating assets, have carved their way from the M4-M5 Tunnels to the M8 Motorway, connecting for the first time. A milestone achievement, deep underground. WestConnex CEO, Andrew Head, notes there are currently twenty-eight roadheaders in operation, the largest number on a single project. Each asset progresses approximately twenty-five metres each week, and to date, have excavated seventeen kilometres1.

The Australian Army received news of an upgrade to its armed reconnaissance capability, following the selection of Boeing’s Apache Guardian to replace the ARH Tiger from 2025.
Boeing’s Apache AH64E helicopter is equipped with improved sensors, communication suites, attack capabilities, and improved survivability. It is the most lethal and lowest-risk option, and meets all of the defence’s requirements for assets, such as through-life support and high-detail security function1.
