Snowy 2.0 Project

The Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) is investing $125million1 into the development of the Snowy 2.0 pumped hydro project.

The investment by the CEFC into critical infrastructure will connect Snowy 2.0 to the National Energy Market (NEM), making it the largest generator connecting to the NSW grid for more than thirty years. In partnership agreement with TransGrid Services, the project will potentially link existing and new infrastructure and deliver clean and cost-effective electricity to its customers.

Call for Nominations to the AMCouncil Board of Directors 2021

In accordance with Section 31 of its Constitution, an election is to be held for the Board of Directors of the Asset Management Council, for the term 2021 – 2024.  One member of the current Board of Directors is to retire at the AMCouncil 2021 Annual General Meeting and is eligible to stand for re-election for the ensuing three-year term.

All financial members of the AMCouncil are eligible to stand for election.

Perth Chapter end-of-year celebration

Perth Chap Dec 20 7Last Thursday, the Perth Chapter celebrated the end of 2020 with a full house at Lot Twenty in a balmy 33 degrees with high humidity. Everyone enjoyed themselves, with representatives from government, oil & gas, mining and rail/transportation industries. Members from local academia also were represented. Food and drinks were enjoyed by all & everyone shared their excitement of what the New Year will bring. Renewable Gas Trial

Renewable Gas TrialSydney Water, Jemena and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) recently announced a jointly funded project to trial injecting biomethane into the natural gas network in NSW.

The $14 million project1 will upgrade biogas produced from the anaerobic digestion process at Sydney Water’s Malabar Wastewater Treatment Plant to biomethane and injected into the Jemena natural gas network.
