On 14 October 2026, the Asset Management Council delegation, led by Chair Wendy McPate, visited the China Southern Power Grid Digital Grid Research Institute in Guangzhou, in a meeting chaired by Du Xu, Deputy General Manager of the Institute’s Strategic Customer Marketing Center. Participants included Shang Chao, General Manager of Business Research and Solutions at CSG Digital Operation, Zhang Peng, Manager of Marketing Management, Liu Qihan of CSG Digital Grid Technology, and Zhang Lijun and Zhang Xin of CSG AI Technology. It was the first formal visit of the delegation’s technical exchange in China.
Discussions covered whole-of-life enterprise asset management and digital solutions, digital grid solutions, and applications of artificial intelligence. Du Xu introduced the CSG digital group; Shang Chao, Liu Qihan and Zhang Lijun then presented digital practice and recommendations based on CSG’s whole-of-life asset management, an integrated intelligent transmission solution, and AI in China Southern Grid’s production operations, including drones, IoT and AI applied at scale to line inspection and defect detection (such as inspecting 49,000 km of transmission line in three months).
Delegates were struck by how a unified data model and a single equipment and asset coding system link asset management with finance, procurement and project management. They also discussed what drove the transformation, how its benefits are measured, and the role of industrial AI in maintenance decisions.
“Seeing drones, robotics and AI already implemented at scale was impressive, with enormous potential to improve productivity, reliability, efficiency and, importantly, safety by reducing the need for people to work on hazardous assets,” said Ms McPate. “What really stood out was the integration and sharing of information across the organisation.”
Both sides agreed to keep in contact and explore potential areas of future cooperation.
澳大利亚资产管理委员会代表团访问南网数研院
2026年10月14日，澳大利亚资产管理委员会主席温迪·麦克佩特率代表团访问南方电网数字电网研究院股份有限公司（以下简称“南网数研院”），南网数研院战略客户营销中心副总经理杜旭主持座谈，数字运营公司业务研究与解决方案部总经理尚超、市场营销部经理张鹏，以及数字电网公司刘启晗、人工智能公司张力钧和张鑫等参加交流。这是代表团此次访华技术交流的首站。
双方围绕企业资产全生命周期管理及数字化解决方案、数字电网解决方案、人工智能应用等主题开展交流研讨。杜旭介绍了南网数字集团的基本情况；尚超、刘启晗、张力钧分别介绍了基于南网资产全生命周期管理的数字化实践和建议、数智输电整体解决方案，以及南方电网生产领域的人工智能应用实践，包括无人机、物联网和人工智能在输电线路巡检和缺陷识别中的规模化应用（如三个月内完成4.9万公里输电线路巡检）。
代表团成员对南网数研院以统一数据模型和统一设备资产编码为基础，打通资产管理、财务、采购和项目管理等业务信息的做法印象深刻，并就数字化转型的出发点、成效量化以及工业人工智能在运维决策中的应用与南网数研院专家进行了深入探讨。
麦克佩特主席表示：“看到无人机、机器人和人工智能已经规模化应用，令人印象深刻。这在提升生产效率、可靠性和安全性方面潜力巨大，尤其是减少了人员在高风险资产上作业的需要。南网数研院在信息整合与共享方面的做法尤为突出。”
双方表示，将持续保持沟通对接，积极探索潜在合作方向。
