The Asset Management Fundamentals course provides participants with an understanding of the principles and basic practices associated with the management of physical assets in order to achieve the required outputs of an enterprise.
In February 2010, the Asset Management Council Certification Scheme Committees, the Technical Development Team and the Training Team convened in Sydney to consider a review of the Asset Management Fundamentals course. During the meeting, it was decided the course should be reviewed on an annual basis to ensure the delivery of course information is consistent with the Asset Management Body of Knowledge.
After months of hard work by a core group of subject matter experts, the course review was completed by January 2011. The course update includes:
- A more in-depth coverage on the importance of effective asset management leadership and culture
- Summary of risk registers
- Revised models and graphs
- An on-line exam, available to participants for a period of two weeks after course completion
- Revised participant’s workbook, set of course slides and facilitator handbook
The Asset Management Council would like to thank all the project members who were part of the course development process (refer to photo above for project members). Particularly, the Asset Management Council would like to thank Ross Francis, Mike McGrath and Gary Winsor for ensuring the project was steered to completion, through their dedication and leadership shown during the last stages of the project process.
