The Asset Management Council would like to express our sincere thanks to Tanya Viano, who has served as Chair of the Maintenance & Reliability in Asset Management (MRiAM) Special Interest Group for the past couple of years.

Under Tanya’s leadership, MRiAM has delivered insightful webinars, fostered meaningful connections across the reliability community, and continued to provide practical knowledge-sharing opportunities for our members. Tanya’s expertise, passion, and dedication have helped the group grow into a trusted forum for advancing maintenance and reliability practices across industry. We’re delighted that she will continue contributing to the committee and the profession in new ways.

We are also very pleased to announce that Akshay Athalye will step into the role of Chair of MRiAM. A long-standing and highly valued member of the MRiAM committee, Akshay brings deep experience as a Chartered Professional Engineer and passionate Reliability Engineer, committed to helping organisations unlock maximum value from their assets.
You may have seen Akshay in action at our recent MRiAM webinar: Spares Wars: The Poisson Awakens (feat. Monte Carlo). With a strong belief in making Reliability Engineering accessible, he’s just as dedicated to supporting upcoming engineers as he is to solving complex asset performance challenges.

Please join us in thanking Tanya for her outstanding leadership and hard work, and in welcoming Akshay into his new role. We look forward to the continued success and growth of MRiAM under his guidance.
