What a great turnout at Perth’s latest chapter event with AMCouncil members from all over the country coming together to hear from Ian Sedgwick as he shared his knowledge and approach to Asset Management, focusing on the importance of balancing key elements within Asset Management. The second part of an evening proved more of a celebration of 2018. Congratulations to Tristan Velnoweth, who won the quiz and brought home the title ‘WA Asset Management Guru of the Year’.

The research arm of leading economic consultancy Econsult Solutions Inc, ESI ThoughtLab, has just released findings from a worldwide benchmarking study of 136 cities that the catalytic impacts associated with becoming a smarter city have the potential to increase GDP per capita by as much as 21% and population growth by 13% over the next five years for cities beginning their smart city journey.

Many thanks on behalf of the Asset Management Council and our Sydney Chapter Committee to Rami Affan, Infrastrcuture NSW, for his excellent presentation on Wednesday night at Sydney Water’s head office in Parramatta.
The large audience clearly appreciated learning about Infrastructure NSW’s State Infrastructure Strategy through the lens of asset management and the inclusive and collaborative deployment strategy (via such avenues as the AM Community of Practice and Asset Management Maturity Assessments both run jointly with the AMCouncil).
