2019 off to a great start for our Perth Chapter
Thank you to Water Corporation who hosted our Perth Chapter event last Thursday. Pictured on the left are David Seaton, Tino Galati, Jakob Verhoef, Karen Riddette and Ashley Vincent. It was an excellent event with fantastic speakers, great engagement, tension was high. Carmel Moynihan who won the AOG 2018 Asset Management Competition came to receive her prize. What a great turnout at Perth’s latest chapter event with AMCouncil members from all over the country coming together to hear from Ian Sedgwick as he shared his knowledge and approach to Asset Management, focusing on the importance of balancing key elements within Asset Management. The second part of an evening proved more of a celebration of 2018. Congratulations to Tristan Velnoweth, who won the quiz and brought home the title ‘WA Asset Management Guru of the Year’.
Many thanks on behalf of the Asset Management Council and our Sydney Chapter Committee to Rami Affan, Infrastrcuture NSW, for his excellent presentation on Wednesday night at Sydney Water’s head office in Parramatta.
The recent Brisbane Chapter event held at the Jacobs offices was well supported and the audience were given an insight from Lucien Whitten from Defence Industries Qld into how the policies for aerospace are developed with a particular emphasis on the impact of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. This was supported by Andrew Scott who provided an insight into the operations of UAVs, the size and also complexity of the support operations with the most crucial part of UAVs being the people behind them. There was also an interesting discussion on the current and potential future uses of these assets and how the industry might develop over the next 5-10 years.
