Transfield Services is a global provider of a wide range of services to a broad customer base. It recently faced the challenge of having to deliver generic technical asset management improvements for its Infrastructure group while ensuring a usable platform was also delivered for the entire global asset management business. Barry Billings was the business lead for this project. Barry will outline the approaches used and lessons learnt from developing an integrated SAP/ ESRI GIS mobility solution and talk through the areas of people, process and technology. He will also discuss a fresh approach to defining user requirements, aligning the solution to a customer focused process model, realising the ‘real’ value of data and the importance of change management.

Melbourne Chapter Technical Session, October 13

Getting the most from an Integrated Asset Management System

Duncan Mills, recently of SAP Australia and now a director of Engineering Informatics, will talk about the latest enterprise asset management (EAM) functionality from SAP.  

SAP has come a long way since the mid-1990’s when many companies in Australia started implementing enterprise-wide business management systems. Since then many of these companies have seen the value of integrating assets, documents, resources, parts, procurement and financials to get a more detailed and accurate view of their asset performance. In this talk we’ll discuss how SAP is being made more usable for maintenance practitioners, what’s included in the latest SAP EAM functionality and how insightful reporting can be generated from the SAP system.

Sydney Chapter Meeting
