Call for EOI – Volunteer to represent AMCouncil on Standards Australia MB-19 Asset Management Committee
The AM Council is seeking a volunteer member to represent AMCouncil on the MB-19 Asset Management Committee which is the Australian mirror committee for the ISO/TC251Asset Management Standards Committee. The position has become available due to the retirement of the current incumbents term.

University of Liverpool in conjunction with industry has developed a robot which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify potential potholes. The robot is an autonomous road repair system (ARRS) which identifies cracks or potholes and then fills them to prevent further water intrusion into the pavement materials and thus further deterioration. This technology is to be trailed on local roads in Hertfordshire UK later in the year.

Martin Kerr is the AM Council’s representative to Standards Australia MB-19 Committee which is the mirror committee for ISO/TC251. Martin is currently in Brazil to attend the international meetings where review of the ISO55001 document is being considered.

The Federal Treasury Department has developed its Climate Related Financial Risks draft legislation. This work applies to some AMCouncil Members organisations, in particular the large organisations and large super funds initially, then will ramp up to respond to all entities captured under NGERS reporting scheme and other asset owners. Infrastructure NSW has announced that applications for the Women in Construction Industry Innovation Program (IIP) Year 2 open on Monday 22 January.
The IIP provides grants to construction industry organisations, including associations and contractors, to boost the number of women working in construction trade and non-traditional roles.
