In accordance with Section 31 of its Constitution, an election is to be held for the Board of Directors of the Asset Management Council, for the term 2020 – 2023. One member of the current Board of Directors is to retire at the AMCouncil 2020 Annual General Meeting and is eligible to stand for re-election for the ensuing three-year term.
News announced mid-December of an incoming Director-General of the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). Commencing in February 2020, Ms Rachel Noble PSM will become the first woman to lead the ASD, a major intelligence agency in Australia.
The ASD is the government agency responsible for foreign signals intelligence, support to military operations, and cyber and information security. Its purpose is to defend Australia’s national interests from global threats by leveraging technology to inform, protect and disrupt1.

The Australian government, through its Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), is to provide $18 million dollars in grant funding to develop Australia’s second energy-from-waste plant, based in Western Australia.
