AMCouncil member, Mark Mackenzie, is currently taking part in the Ride for Compassion Coast to Coast, cycling over 4,300 kilometres across Australia from Perth to Newcastle, raising money for Highly Vulnerable Children in doing so. He is currently in Ceduna having ridden about 2,500km so far. Lycopodium, the sponsors of the AMPEAK16 water bottles will be pleased to know that one has sustained Mark as he has traversed across the Nullarbor. It has been a hard ride enduring a few constant days of strong winds. Mark hopes to finish around October 17th and we look forward to his next update. Changes to Australia’s Authorised Witness List took effect on 18th September 2018 and include a change that any engineer accredited under a State or Commonwealth law will now be added to the authorised witness list. Take a look at the updated legislation and the list of authorised witnesses here.

The AMCouncil Melbourne Chapter welcomed a delegation from China as part of their visit to Melbourne on Thursday afternoon, 20th September, who were interested in learning more about the Australian government and the Asset Management systems that are used within the three different levels of government.
We have much to learn from the Chinese with regard to Asset Management. Thank you to Nick Phillips for presenting on the Victorian AMAF framework. We hope our ISO TC251 delegates can continue this relationship when they visit China in May next year.
