AMCouncil Sydney Chapter was this year invited to assist with the hosting some Field visits (Off-site tours) in conjunction with Engineers Australia’s College of Leadership and Management (CLM) at the Australian Engineering Conference held in Sydney in September.
One of these was at Garden Island Defence Precinct and included a workshop on the topic of Digital Disruption in Construction in the Department of Defence and the other was at the Sydney Opera House.

The Melbourne Cricket Club manages the MCG and has an opportunity for an experienced Asset Management Specialist to manage the Asset Management System with a strategic focus on asset planning, asset policies and procedures. Reporting to the Operations & Contracts Manager in the AM Facilities Department, this is a hands on proactive role, that will work collaboratively with the project team, business and stakeholders towards delivering solutions and results by coordinating the planning and implementation of identified improvement strategies to solve key asset management problems. Wednesday 26th September saw the Brisbane Chapter provide a seminar on ‘What an Asset Management System is and isn’t.’ The 2 hour presentation was hosted by committee members Keith Paintin and Mark Jordan, who provided an interactive walk through of the Asset Management System and its key elements from the AM Policy through to people capabilities and also debated what does optimisation really mean to an organisation.
