This is the second seminar from the 1200 Buildings Series.  The first seminar explored the regulatory environment and retrofit case studies. This seminar will focus on retrofit incentives and the management of retrofit technologies.

Presenters will cover:
• Incentivising commercial building retrofits using the new City of Melbourne/1200 Buildings Financial Mechanism;
• Demand response management – paying companies to use existing standby generators to reduce peak electricity demand; and
• A look at the newer energy efficiency technologies and how to acheive optimal performance.

Time:  5:30pm for a 6:00pm start and a 8:00pm finish
Cost:  Free. Please note that this event is open to all members and non members, membership to the AM Council is not required.

Presenters:

Scott Bosckay, Sustainable Melbourne Fund
Scott Bocskay is the Chief Executive of the Sustainable Melbourne Fund. Scott has 10 years experience working with businesses, large and small, and government on how to deal with climate change with profitable outcomes. In this role the SMF is charged with delivering the new financing mechanism of the City of Melbourne through their 1200 Buildings program, aimed at generating $2bn in retrofit activity in the City of Melbourne. Scott was previously the Cities Program Director in Australia for the Clinton Climate Initiative and worked with City, State and Commonwealth Governments to accelerate activity in reducing emissions from Australia’s largest Cities. Scott is well regarding as a leader in the space on assisting Small to Medium sized enteprises to capture the value of Energy Efficiency.

Ross Fraser, Energy Response
Ross has over 44 years experience in the energy sector. Ross’s expertise and experience has enabled him to succeed in:
• Executive management of a major utility,
• Leadership of national scale projects,
• Innovative engineering projects in the energy and related industries,
• Establishing a dynamic consulting business, and
• Forming an innovative startup Company which is now growing rapidly. 

Ross is currently Chairman of Energy Response Holdings Pty Ltd (http://www.energyresponse.com/).
He is also Managing Director of Fraser Consulting Services Pty Ltd and an Executive Director of Independent Utility Services Pty Ltd which operates major buying group services for energy for thousands of small business consumers and their representative organisations.

Warrick Stannus, AG Coomb
Warwick is the Group Engineering Manager for the A.G. Coombs Group of Companies and a former Engineering Manager for one of Australia’s leading building services engineering consulting firms.

Having been involved in a number of large CBD building refurbishments including the recently completed 500 Bourke Street and 500 Collins Street, together with his experienced gained through his ICA roles on a large number of new and refurbishment Green Star projects, Warwick has a strong understanding of the technologies and engineering methodologies needed to deliver successful building refurbishment outcomes.

Warrick’s presentation will review some of the new technologies and approaches being implemented to deliver Green Star and NABERS targeted building upgrades together the key lessons learnt in their design and specification, project delivery methodologies and tuning programmes.

After the presenter’s presentations there will be a 10 minute session for questions.
