Presentation Overview:
Mobile computing has revolutionized the way we do business. Today’s enterprise-grade mobile apps for sales, service, and maintenance are scalable, secure, easy to deploy and offer a compelling user experience. The SAP® EAM Work Order mobile app can help companies to gather, assess, and share work order information with service and maintenance technicians, and optimize the time they spend in front of the computer to gather the details. This presentation will give you an overview of how to mobilize your enterprise wide applications and framework to support such strategy. This presentation will also give an overview of features and function of SAP EAM work order mobile apps and future roadmap for this application.
Greg Rimmer, Water Corporation
Greg is the Water Corporation Business Custodian for the SAP PM and Mobile Computing System
Presentation Overview
The Water Corporation first implemented Mobile Computing using PDA’s for workers in 2004. Since then the system was significantly upgraded to provide for a range of technology enhancements to improve performance, usability and business saturation. There are now over 800 PDA devices in use at the Corporation all capable of a large range of enhanced functions.
This presentation will discuss:
- Brief scope of mobile computing for field work at the Corporation.
- Integration with supporting systems via SAP. Features such as documentation, photographic records, safety instructions, spatial information, geographic positioning, etc.
- The need for improved data (accuracy and completeness) and how this mobile initiative is assisting the shift.
Luke Bongiorno, UWA
Mobile Asset Management – Challenges and Rewards
Luke is Senior Director, Field Services at Mincom, providing oversight, governance and leadership to Mincom’s field enablement projects globally. Luke has over 10 years experience in the design, development and deployment of mobile solutions.
Presentation Overview:
While many companies have strong asset policies and business processes defined in their back office, it is difficult to ensure these practices are being put in place out in the field – where the work is actually being done. Join us for a discussion on the challenges and benefits of deploying field enablement solutions which aim to improve productivity, reduce backlog, and ensure that work is being completed consistently and safely.
Achim Krueger, SAP
Dr.-Ing. Achim Krüger is globally responsible for SAP’s solutions in the area of Enterprise Asset Management. Before joining SAP Germany in 2002, Achim served as a general staff officer in the German Ari Force focusing on aircraft maintenance and logistics.
Presentation Overview:
Creating and maintaining accurate master data is one of the key challenges in asset management. Without delivering on this task analytics will always lack a proper basis. Achim will share SAP’s paradigm on how to deal with master both upon introduction of technical assets into the enterprise as well as during operations. The presentation will provide insight on the currently available technology as well as on development projects that are underway. Major topics will be the handover of data from EPC to the owner & operator, the cleansing of master data, and the management of change.

Presentation Overview:
Mark will introduce a case study from a mining company, analysing some of the SAP data. He will highlight and summarise some major problems with data in many systems (not just SAP) and will discuss some possible solutions that have been used in the past to clean up data to be fit for purpose. He will present in detail one such method.
