The Tasmania Chapter invites you to their Technical Seminar, Friday 8th November 2013.

Various presentations and discussions will be held between 11.00-15.00 including the benefits of implementing ISO 55001 and Hydro Tasmania’s asset management journey.

The Presentations

1. ISO 55001 Asset Management System Standard – Benefits and practical implementation for asset intensive organisations, by Paul Agar, Director, Agar Consulting Services

This paper will discuss the benefits that asset intensive organisations can expect to gain through implementing the ISO 55001 Asset management system standard. It will also explore some practical examples of early implementation by organisations. 

2. The AMBoK Framework and Projects, by Mo Barghash, Project Manager, Asset Management Council

Mo will present the framework for the AM Council’s Asset Management Body of Knowledge (AMBoK) its technical value and wider benefits to the asset management community. In particular he’ll discuss the key projects under pinning the AM Council’s strategic goals and objectives. 

3. Hydro Tasmania’s Journey in Asset Management, by Tony Ang, Manager Asset Strategy & Risk, Technical & Operations, Hydro Tasmania

A description of Hydro Tasmania’s decision seven years ago to adopt the concept and the practice of asset management to integrate its various engineering and maintenance activities to provide focus and framework to create value to the business and the journey from that decision point to the present day. The presentation will highlight key milestones along this journey in establishing an asset management framework and the system used. Sharing things we did well and others not so well. It will be a timeline trace of the journey and growth. 

4. Consider your Potential – AM Council Certification, by Andrew Sneesby, AM Council Chapter Chair, Tasmania & Mo Barghash

Becoming qualified in asset management offers numerous and extensive benefits along your professional journey. 
Andrew and Mo will introduce the Asset Management Certification Scheme, what is it and how it can benefit organisations and individuals. 

There will be time for questions, newtworking and discussion on future Chapter Events.  We welcome your input.
