On Thursday August 17, Transport for NSW and Asset Management Council successfully hosted the Auburn Maintenance Centre technical site tour.
The Auburn Maintenance Centre is a train depot that is responsible for the maintenance of the Sydney Trains A set fleet operated by Downer Rail. It was an excellent opportunity to view and get up to date with this amazing facility.
Last week’s Perth mining event was so well-attended, the chapter ended up upgrading to a bigger venue in the Deloitte building to accomodate the popularity! A quick AGM resulted in Anselm Boehl being re-elected as Perth Chapter Chair for another season, and we also welcome Michael Patterson to the general WA Committee. An Asset Management Workshop in Gippsland was organised by the School of Science, Engineering and Information Technology’s Resources Engineering and Technology Group and supported by the Gippsland Chapter of the Asset Management Council and Engineering Network of local Engineers Australia Group on Thursday 28 June from 10.00am to 5pm.
This workshop was another of its revered Corporate Education Workshop and Seminars attended by more than 35 delegates from industry, professional bodies and FedUni and feedback received from delegates was outstanding. This was the fifth event held in the past 3 years, which has seen close to 250 delegates attend Gippsland events.
Great to see an enthusiastic audience at last night’s Adelaide’s networking and technical meet. First up was Andrei Ezergailis, ASC Pty Ltd’s CCSM LifCycle Manager, who flew in from Perth to go over ASC’s journey to ISO55001’s certification and the lessons learned from it.
Data Mining is one of those topics that conjures up thoughts of modelling a large amount of data without providing significant Asset Management value. Whilst there are a few companies that have invested significant time and energy into modelling a broad range of data to assist in decision making, this does not appaer to be a widespread approach in asset management.
NZ members and their guests from as far as the University of Notre Dame attended the AMC NZ Chapter event last Monday. As well as a soft launch to officially open the chapter, the topic of the evening was asset resilience where Dr. Kevin Walsh shared some of his learnings from the US, and Dr. Temitope Egbelakin presented a current case study of a NZ local authority.
