Can Organisations Afford Not to be Using Asset Management?

One Day Seminar, 4 November 2011, Sydney

Stop Press: Matthew Roberts, NSW Treasury Deputy Secretary – Economic, Environment and Communities, will be joining the symposium program.

Matthew’s presentation will include:

  • The fiscal context and the need for enhanced management and accountability
  • Infrastructure NSW – role and responsibilities
  • Ensuring the financial framework facilitates asset acquisition and management.

Organisations, particularly those in asset intensive industries, are facing a challenge in regard to whether they invest in asset management. This symposium will provide different perspectives and discussion on whether it is optional, useful or essential for organisations of the future. In particular, this symposium will explore how the new international standard on asset management will impact the landscape and how that standard interacts with another new standard on dependability. This symposium is intended to provoke debate and thought on how organisations can better utilise asset management.

The speakers are leaders in their field of expertise and will articulate their own perspectives on asset management. The symposium will also include feedback on the progress and implications of the new ISO standard together with discussion from specialists driving the new standard on dependability.
